Battlefield 2 (commonly abbreviated to BF2) is a computer game by the Swedish developer Digital Illusions. During development, Trauma Studios contributed to the development of the game after it was acquired by Digital Illusions CE. Battlefield 2 is published by Electronic Arts and is the third full game in the Battlefield series, released on June 21, 2005 in North America for the computer. The latest stable version is v1.41 which was released on November 16th, 2006 although there is a beta version of the game that has been pre-released.
Players fight in a modern battlefield, using modern weapon systems. Battlefield 2 is a first-person shooter with some strategy and RPG elements. The single player features missions that involve clashes between US Marines, the fictional Middle East Coalition, and China. The multilayer allows to players to organize into squads that come under the leadership of a single commander to promote teamwork.
